Job Overview

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain overhead electrical power lines, poles, transformers, and other related equipment.
  • Perform work from heights on utility poles, aerial lifts, and other elevated structures, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • String and sag wire, install crossarms, insulators, and other line hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
  • Work with various types of conductors, including copper, aluminum, and fiber optic cables.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other utility vehicles.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Participate in emergency call-out rotations and respond to power outages as needed.
  • Mentor and train less experienced crew members.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and the public.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Aerial Lineman.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical theory, safety practices, and utility construction standards.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, climbing poles, and performing strenuous manual labor.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as required.
