Overview
Builds solid, positive working relationships between the Market Center and depots and aims to exceed expectations. Successful Shuttle Drivers transport merchandise safely and efficiently, maintain safety, and represent the organization professionally.
Responsibilities- Safely operate a company vehicle/truck to transport products between Market Centers and depot locations on time and according to route delivery and facility processing schedules.
- Confirm route schedule and details with the Market Center Production Manager.
- Verify daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle, schedule regular maintenance for tractor/trailer, and maintain proper operator documentation, driver duty status logs, vehicle inspection reports, and schedules.
- Manage daily route to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
- Load/unload product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Take responsibility for personal safety and watch for the safety of others; use safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adhere to all safe work practices and policies.
- Know and adhere to Federal, State, and local highway transportation laws and regulations.
- Carries the required driving license and medical certification as required by state/federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as required or assigned within the scope of the activities described above.
- Exposure to adverse and varying weather conditions which may include extreme hot/cold temperatures depending on geographical location.
- Fast‑paced environment requiring irregular and long hours.
- Exposure to odors/fumes, noise, and vibration.
- Routine lifting and maneuvering of at least 25 lbs. and load/unload product from truck without assistance.
- Occasional lifting of 50+ lbs.; stand/walk while loading and unloading; frequent sitting while driving for prolonged periods between locations; use hands for grasping and other manipulations.
- Occasional push and pull of up to 50+ lbs. moving carts and pallets.
- Require bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
Minimum 3 years of driving experience, with 3 years of previous truck driving experience in a similar vehicle or equivalent experience.
EducationHigh school degree or equivalent preferred.
License Requirements / CertificationsValid commercial driver’s license; current CDL‑A license; at least 1 year of Class A driving experience; meet minimum DMV/MVR points per company policy.
