Responsibilities- Oversee regional warehouse operations including shipping and receiving, scheduling pick-up and delivery of office furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain warehouse stock items and coordinate resolution of facility issues; assist with office moves.
- Assist with surplus property management/disposal and fleet management as needed.
- Plan, assign, and supervise work as appropriate; work under limited supervision with substantial initiative and judgment.
- Serve as a member of the Regional Disaster Deployment Team for emergency equipment delivery, setup, and monitoring as designated by supervisor.
- Work in varied environments inside and outside.
- Attend work regularly and predictably; perform other duties as assigned.
- Plan and schedule distribution services, including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, and inter/intra-office relocations.
- Lead regional warehouse activities to meet prescribed objectives.
- Maintain a neat, secure, and organized warehouse to prevent damage to products, equipment, and facility.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs; provide safety instructions and enforce policies.
- Ensure accurate inventory control; assist with annual physical inventory and resolve discrepancies; implement warehouse security plan.
- Monitor and review fleet reports and state vehicle maintenance and compliance as applicable.
- Prepare, process, distribute, and retain required warehouse operation reports and records.
- Registrations, Licensure, Certifications – Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities – Knowledge of inventory and receiving procedures; standard warehouse procedures including safety; knowledge of agency policies and the ability to interpret them.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard agency computer software.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple priorities; coordinate the work of others.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; build effective working relationships with customers, staff, peers, and external contacts.
- Ability to work irregular hours and overtime; work independently; prepare concise reports.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles and trailers per local, state, and federal regulations; lift/pull/push/carry up to 50 lbs; operate warehousing equipment (forklift, pallet jack, dolly, etc.).
- Ability to travel locally and across the state, including overnight stays.
- High School diploma or GED; experience in shipping, receiving, sorting and distributing furniture, supplies, or equipment.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, dolly, etc.).
- Effective written communication; preferred experience driving panel truck or cargo van and pulling a trailer.
- May assist with emergency/disaster situations; travel may require overnight stays.
- Salary: the posted range applies generally; current HHSC employees may have salary determinations per HR guidelines for promotions or transfers.
