SUMMARY

The Tyngsborough Public Library is seeking applicants for the position of part-time Circulation Assistant. This Clerical Union position is for 10 hours per week, reporting to the Library Director. Salary range expected be between a Grade 4 Step 1 and Grade 4 Step 3 ($18.63- $19.45/hour). The schedule requires working from 9 AM to 2 PM, and on Saturdays as part of a rotation, with potential for additional hours.

Candidates with flexible schedules are preferred.

Primary duties include:

• Providing exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages.
• Checking materials in and out, registering patrons, and managing interlibrary loans.
• Offering readers’ advisory and reference services.
• Assisting patrons with computers and electronic resources.
• Handling shelving, collection maintenance, and processing materials.
• Assisting with programming and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent required (college degree preferred).
• Library experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
