To advance the mission of Operation Mobilization, t he HR Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle and helps ensure HR programs, policies, and processes run efficiently. This role partners with the Director of HR to drive a positive workplace culture, maintain compliance, and support key HR initiatives including talent management, performance, benefits, and employee relations.

Job Summary

The HR Generalist will support daily human resources operations across the full employee lifecycle. The role will handle employee relations, recruiting support, onboarding, HR policy guidance, recordkeeping, performance process coordination, and benefits assistance. They will also ensure compliance with employment laws, maintain accurate HR data, assist managers with HR processes, and help promote a positive and productive workplace culture. They will serve as a key resource for employees and leaders, balancing administrative tasks with people‑focused support.

Responsibilities

and Duties
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual and management of HR SharePoint.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Collects and compiles key HR metrics and data from a variety of sources, including human resource information systems (HRIS) and payroll outputs, benefits enrollment records, surveys, exit interviews, personnel records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and manages the volunteer program and delivers seamless onboarding experiences, including new‑hire paperwork, orientation, and first‑day readiness.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for employee questions on HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Assist with investigations of employee concerns and document outcomes.
  • Plays a key role in making sure employees understand, select, and successfully enroll in the benefits offered by the organization by
    • communicating benefits options
    • supporting open enrollment
    • managing life event changes
    • coordinating with payroll and vendors
    • compliance and documentation
    • employee support and problem solving
FOCUSED RESPONSIBILITIES
  • HR administrative duties to facilitate daily HR functions like HRIS management, document and records compliance, vendor and contract management and support risk management and perform audit preparations.
TEAM PARTICIPATION
  • Team events that focus on prayer, fellowship, training, and development
  • Task Forces or Working Groups that facilitate cross-department collaboration.
  • Modeling the culture of OM USA
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist or coordinator role.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • SHRM‑CP or PHR certification.
  • Experience supporting multi‑state employee populations.
  • Knowledge of talent management and engagement strategies.
