MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
Location: Tyrone, GA | On-Site
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Compensation: Commensurate with Experience

Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes within a metal stamping, fabrication, and precision machining environment.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving production problems, improving efficiency, supporting new product launches, and working directly with the shop floor
.
You ll also play an important role in cost estimating and quoting
, using drawings, CAD models, specifications, cycle times, tooling requirements, and material costs to help evaluate new business opportunities.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for metal stamping, fabrication, and machining operations.
- Support new product launches, including routings, process flows, work instructions, and setup documentation.
- Prepare cost estimates and quotations for manufactured parts and assemblies.
- Review blueprints, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Determine process sequences, tooling requirements, cycle times, labor, and overhead costs.
- Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve productivity, safety, and quality.
- Analyze material utilization, machine efficiency, capacity, and production bottlenecks.
- Conduct time studies and identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Lead Lean, 5S, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Develop plant layouts and process-flow improvements.
- Troubleshoot production issues alongside Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Support corrective and preventive actions related to process and quality issues.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with in metal stamping, fabrication, machining, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Experience preparing manufacturing cost estimates or customer quotes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, machine setup, and production efficiency.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Experience with Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, including routings, BOMs, and cost structures.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable balancing engineering responsibilities with hands-on shop floor support.
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
- MasterCAM.
- JobBOSS or similar ERP/MRP systems.
- Six Sigma training or experience.
- Metal stamping, precision machining, or fabrication operations.
