Job SummaryPart time night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) on a 28‑bed post‑surgical unit. Magnet Designated (with Distinction) at Paulding campus. Sign‑on bonus eligible. New graduates up to 6 months of experience encouraged to apply for available RN Residency requirements.
Position OverviewThe RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure patients, families and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe patient care. The position supports the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and the Professional Practice Model.
Core Responsibilities- A. Performs the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to provide individualized care.
- B. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects cultural diversity and adapts service delivery to population‑specific characteristics.
- C. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned teaching) to keep them informed and focus care around patient goals.
- D. Practices current clinical standards, promotes teamwork, and collaborates through interdisciplinary communication and timely documentation.
- E. Supports performance improvement initiatives, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels.
- F. Completes mandatory professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education; serves as preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff.
- G. Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and participates in data collection, clinical question formulation, and consultation with experts.
- H. Plans for care across the continuum, helps develop protocols and procedures, and ensures efficient use of human and material resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar Health System policies and standards.
Minimum Education
- Associate's in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (RN);
Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
- RN—Registered Nurse (single state) or RN‑COMPACT (multi‑state compact).
- BLS or equivalent:
Basic Life Support, AHA or Red Cross BLS, or BLS Instructor.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
- Fluency in English: reading, writing, speaking.
- Basic computer skills and effective use of technology to support clinical care.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner.
- Excellent time‑management, evidence‑based clinical reasoning, and critical‑thinking skills.
