Accounting Manager

About the Role

We are a growing CFO Advisory firm expanding our Managed Services practice. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support client engagements, oversee accounting operations, and serve as a key leader within our delivery team.

This role is ideal for someone with a public accounting background who enjoys working directly with clients, managing multiple engagements, and helping businesses improve financial processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage clients' day-to-day accounting and operational functions as part of an ongoing advisory partnership
• Oversee monthly close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Review client financials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client accounting teams and internal stakeholders
• Lead and mentor junior accounting staff and support engagement execution
• Assist with process improvements, system implementations, and accounting clean-up projects
• Partner with CFO Advisory leadership on client deliverables and strategic finance initiatives

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in financial reporting and close processes
• Public accounting experience required (audit or advisory background preferred)
• Healthcare, Tech or Professional Services background
• Experience working in a managed service, advisory or embedded accounting environment strongly preferred
• Net Suite experience preferred (other ERP exposure a plus)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Hybrid role based in Tyson's Corner, VA
• Ability to work on-site 3–4 days per week is required
• Fast-paced, collaborative, and client-facing advisory setting
