Position Title: Revenue Accountant

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition, customer billing, account reconciliations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong experience in revenue accounting, ASC 606, month‑end close, and financial reporting. Experience supporting audits and working in a fast‑paced environment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities Revenue Recognition & Accounting- Manage the monthly revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606
. - Review contracts, statements of work, and amendments to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Analyze performance obligations, contract modifications, and variable consideration.
- Maintain schedules for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract assets.
- Prepare revenue‑related journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Prepare account reconciliations and revenue‑related analyses.
- Ensure financial results are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Customer Success teams to ensure accurate customer invoicing.
- Review billing schedules and contract terms to ensure alignment with revenue recognition policies.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Active CPA license required.
- 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm) preferred.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, government contracting, professional services, healthcare, or recurring revenue environments.
- Experience with deferred revenue, contract assets, and subscription‑based revenue models.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and audit requirements.
