Minimum $20.25, First Quartile $21.03, Mid $22.81, Max $25.38, 30.50. Expected entry pay: $21.03 to $22.81. This position is Non-Exempt under the FLSA.

The Court Administration Assistant provides administrative support in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment that requires the ability to multi-task, strong organizational and communication skills to provide exemplary customer service both internally and externally, ensuring that the needs of the Court are met effectively.

Position Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience:

    Two (2) years of general clerical or administrative experience OR combined education and experience (post-secondary education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis).
Preferred Candidate
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing software.
  • Written and verbal communication effectiveness.
  • Providing exemplary customer service.
  • Preparation of statistical reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Learn policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Court.
  • Respond courteously to concerns of the public, attorneys, and employees.
  • Use effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Excel in a high-volume and time-sensitive work environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Understand and accurately brief oral and written instructions.
  • Make sound decisions in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Work as a member of a team with minimal supervision.
Essential Job Tasks
  • Work with Judicial Officers and various other departments daily.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while answering a high volume of questions from internal and external customers by phone, email, and in person.
  • Explain legal filing procedures both at the counter and over the telephone; schedule hearings; assist the public, law enforcement agents, attorneys, and their staff with locating information, documents, and other related materials.
  • Perform case management functions, including reviewing case status reports, Cal-Acti, and researching cases.
  • Prepare and maintain statistical information.
  • Perform general clerical duties including but not limited to photocopying, scanning, faxing, mailing, and data entry.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Working Conditions

May need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects, maintain positions for extended periods such as sitting, standing, or walking. May use hands for typing, handling objects, or operating tools, reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally required to move or lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
