Executive Mosaic (EM), the nation’s leading Gov Con events and media organization, is seeking a talented and experienced Staff Writer for Event Promotion to join its growing team based in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
EM was founded in 2002 and partners with leading and up-and-coming federal contracting companies to host events and produce first-rate media products via its suite of news offerings — Gov Con Wire, Executive Biz, Executive Gov, Gov Con Exec International. These properties are attracting increasingly large traffic volumes and each issue email newsletters to a subscriber base of over 350,000 recipients every weekday.
The company’s umbrella also includes Potomac Officers Club, the 4x24 Leadership Program, Arch Intel, and the Wash
100 Award. The Staff Writer for Event Promotion’s responsibilities encompass and interlace with all of these entities. The individual’s primary duties, though, entail producing content designed to educate about and drive registrations for the slate of Potomac Officers Club summits. These events are hosted monthly and each focus on a different aspect of the federal contracting industry, with a particular focus on defense IT.
The schedule includes the Artificial Intelligence Summit, the Homeland Security Summit, the Defense R&D Summit and the yearly Summer Service Series: the Army Summit, Air and Space Summit, and Navy Summit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote upcoming Potomac Officers Club events through written content
- Turn thought leader interviews into compelling articles
- Cover breaking news across the Gov Con landscape and draw connections to POC events
- Create externally-facing and brand-aligned content for EM’s various programs
- Maintain consistent understanding of key topics and trends in Gov Con and translate them understandably and compellingly to readership
- Attend the monthly summits, report on them and ask relevant questions during sessions
Role Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree (or more) in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English or a related field
- Exceptional writing skills and ability to quickly deliver spotless copy on deadline
- 2–3 years of experience promoting events, products, or comparable subjects via articles and written copy
- Demonstrated SEO and GEO skillset
- Familiarity with technology concepts in IT, AI, cyber, military and defense tech, and federal systems
- Comfortable interfacing with high-level industry executives and government officials
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Word Press, Salesforce
- 2–3 days in office per week
- Based in northern Virginia
- Reliable transportation
- Use of large language models to accentuate and assist with efficient content production
