The Electrical Estimator will work on electrical construction projects bid and proposals through the construction phase to completion, ensuring the work complies with all standards, specifications and budgets.
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information.
Responsibilities- Develop budgets and cost codes for projects; assist in the preparation of technical proposals, including the design and writing of the scope of work, management plans, work sequence, safety, quality control and commissioning.
- Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.
- Develop and present clear and detailed project scopes to the customer and meet with potential customers to present proposals.
- Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Perform take‑offs from drawings and price change orders.
- Apply cost fundamentals; maintain current accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors.
- Identify value‑added solutions and cost saving methods.

Education
- 10+ years of experience with a related associate’s degree.
- 12+ years of experience with a high school diploma or GED.
Requirements
- Proficient with Accubid; experience using sophisticated estimating tools.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Knowledge of design principles, relevant codes, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials and specifications.
- Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, addenda, specifications, and change orders.
- Experience or exposure to technical writing.
- Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one’s own activities or the activities of others.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in producing electrical plans, blueprints and drawings.
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work.
- Generating high‑quality work.
- Working well with others to reach a common goal.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Desired Skills
- Local candidates preferred.
- Accubid preferred software.
- Design‑Build Institute of America (DBIA) (Nice to Have).
- Journeyman Electrician license.
