The successful candidate will provide technical experience while expanding VIKA's Transportation Services portfolio. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams while reporting to the Director of Transportation.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning
- 4-8 years of progressive experience in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning
- Proficiency with software:
Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM - Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Auto Turn, and ArcGIS
- Strong knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
- Strong knowledge in Traffic Signal Design
- Strong knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans
- Developing client relationship management skills
- Experience managing project budgets and schedules
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Technical writing and presentation skills
- Problem-solving abilities with focus on innovative solutions
- AICP Certificate or Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred
- Conduct transportation studies and traffic impact analyses
- Assist in project team management and provide technical support for traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Develop intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and geometric designs
- Participate in parking demand studies and multimodal transportation assessments
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies
- Attend client meetings and support project presentations
