We are seeking an Estimator for Data Center Security Installation to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit.

Responsibilities

The Estimator works on data center security installation construction project pricing at the bid and proposals phase only. This role is responsible for managing a bid from Request for Proposal receipt through to contract award.

  • Develop budgets for projects; assist in the preparation of technical proposals, to include assisting in the design and writing of the scope of work, management plans, work sequence, safety, quality control and commissioning.
  • Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.
  • Perform take-offs from drawings.
  • Develop and present clear and detailed project scopes to the customer and meet with potential customers to present proposals.
  • Ensuring the bid complies with all standards, specifications and budgets.
  • Develop project schedules utilizing the Critical Path Method; assign cost and manpower to the schedule to provide cash and manpower forecasting.
  • Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.
  • Understand and apply cost fundamentals; maintaining current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors.
Qualifications

Education:

  • 2+ years experience with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience with an Associate's Degree.
  • 8+ years experience with a high school diploma or GED.
