Engineer 2 – Security and Electronic Systems (SES) Business Unit
Engineer 2 position in the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit, responsible for designing, engineering, integrating, operating and maintaining electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers.
ResponsibilitiesThe Engineer provides system programming and management support for large‑scale networking infrastructures. The responsibilities include administration and maintenance of high‑performance computer configurations, participation in system integration projects, performance analyses, problem resolution, and system security initiatives. The Engineer works with senior staff on development of system management tools and with other company departments to provide comprehensive support for commercial, corporate, and governmental users.
- Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of security systems that are compliant with commercial client and data center construction standards.
- Responsible for all technical submittals (Product Data, O&M, Warranty) for delivering security projects and works with a team of engineers, project managers, and field technicians.
- Supports project lifecycle of large‑scale construction projects.
- Manages multiple project designs concurrently and ensures they meet customer standards.
- Participates in coordination calls with the engineering team and designated project manager to ensure proper communication and delivery.
- Attends coordination calls with contractors/trade groups to coordinate dependencies related to security drawings and installation.
- Tracks revisions, RFIs, submittals, and Bill of Materials throughout project lifecycle.
- Leads Design Review sessions with team members and Page Turn review calls with the client.
- Develops and improves design standards.
- Leads complex projects, mentors and oversees project execution through design excellence processes, ensuring high delivery quality.
- Leads pre‑installation testing & check‑out of security equipment for various projects—coordinating schedule, checklist, and shipment due dates.
- Reviews Request for Proposals (RFP) documentation, Statement of Work, and Client Specifications for new project bids, develops Bill of Materials (BOM) and forecasts engineering time.
- Provides in‑person site surveys and field troubleshooting/commissioning support.
Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required, with 2+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, providing SE services for physical security systems and IT solutions.
