What You Will Do:
  • Represent clients in matters before the IRS, focusing on federal interest computations, tax calculations, and account resolution issues.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the Tax Controversy and Procedure practice.
  • Prepare complex, multi-year federal tax and interest computations for purposes such as global interest netting studies and refund claims.
  • Participate in internal and external knowledge-sharing initiatives on emerging and contentious tax issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality tax solutions and exceptional client service.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering technical development and supporting their growth in tax controversy.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting, or specialized expertise in federal interest computation and/or complex, multi-year federal tax calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Current and valid CPA, EA, JD, or LLM credential.
  • Understanding of interest rules, regulations, revenue procedures, and IRS guidelines, with the ability to research and analyze complex scenarios.
  • Proficiency with DMI (Decision Modeling, Inc.) Interest and Penalty software or similar interest-netting tools.
Illinois Wage Transparency

Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non‑exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek.

Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit‑sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. IL Minimum Salary (USD): $ 86,300

IL Maximum Salary (USD): $ 143,800
