National Tax Senior Manager - Quality Assurance and Risk Management

We are seeking a Tax Senior Manager to support our National Tax team, focusing on identifying and mitigating tax risks for complex client engagements and retrospective reviews. The role reports directly to the Head of Tax Controversy and Risk.
Responsibilities- Be a tax technical resource to the Tax practice
- Research complex federal and state income tax topics
- Draft and/or review technical memoranda and tax alerts
- Assist client teams with complex transactions to identify risk areas prior to transactions being executed
- Review and analyze tax returns and other information to identify risk mitigation items
- Assist with the tax compliance inspection process
- Participate in tax inspection calls and meetings
- Ensure timely handling and identification of technical topics for training tax team members
- Assist with internal and external presentations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, EA, JD or LLM preferred
- IRS or solid controversy experience desirable
- 7+ years of broad, relevant experience in tax compliance, tax accounting, or tax consulting
- Strong technical skills in tax concepts and rules
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills and intuition
- Team player; ability to work effectively and independently with guidance in an environment of deadlines and concurrent projects
- Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, Power Point and various tax research tools
Salary range: $150,000 to $250,000 annually, based on experience and location.
