We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract role based in Tysons Corner, Virginia. In this position, you will lead the migration from on-premises Iron Port email security appliances to Proofpoint cloud-based email security, ensuring seamless transition with minimal disruption to email services.
Responsibilities- Lead migration from on-premises Iron Port email security appliances to Proofpoint cloud-based email security
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain Proofpoint as an enterprise email security service
- Configure Proofpoint firewall rules and maintain email block lists
- Respond to requests to quarantine, release, and manage emails within Proofpoint
- Troubleshoot complex enterprise email security and messaging issues
- Support enterprise messaging infrastructure and mail flow operations
- Required
- Expert-level experience designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining Proofpoint as an enterprise email security service
- Strong experience configuring Proofpoint firewall rules and maintaining email block lists
- Deep understanding of Mail Transfer Agents (MTA) and Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway
- Hands-on experience with Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway 8.x
- Strong experience with Linux Server environments
- Experience with VMware/virtualized environments
- Strong understanding of email security architecture, mail flow, filtering, quarantine management, and enterprise messaging infrastructure
- Preferred
- Experience responding to requests to quarantine, release, and manage emails within Proofpoint
