Associate Attorney; In-House

We are seeking a highly competent, business-minded In-House Attorney to serve as Legal and Compliance Counsel for a high-volume real estate investment and wholesaling company. This is a full-time, in-office role embedded within our operations.

This attorney will work directly with ownership and leadership to manage all legal matters, ensure compliance with real estate laws and regulations, draft and standardize contracts, oversee corporate structuring, handle disputes, and provide ongoing legal guidance across all business activities.

This role is not passive advisory. The attorney will be actively involved in daily business operations and serve as the company’s primary legal authority.

• Draft, review, and standardize all company contracts, including:
  • Purchase and Sale Agreements
  • Demand letters and legal notices
  • Vendor and service contracts
• Create standardized contract templates to streamline operations and reduce legal risk
• Draft demand letters and formal legal notices
• Manage and oversee disputes involving buyers, sellers, agents, contractors, and partners
• Coordinate with and manage outside litigation counsel when necessary
• Assist in preparing litigation strategy and documentation

• Draft and maintain:
  • Trust agreements
  • Entity formation and structuring documents
• Assist in designing entity structures to optimize legal protection and operational efficiency

• Research and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including:
  • Real estate wholesaling laws
  • Federal and state business compliance
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update company practices and contracts

• Provide ongoing legal guidance on transactions, deal structuring, and risk management
• Advise ownership on legal implications of business decisions
• Assist with structuring creative real estate transactions
• Assist with:
  • Coordination with CPA and tax professionals
  • Financial record organization
  • Ensuring legal compliance of financial practices

• Serve as primary in-house legal authority
• Develop internal legal processes and protocols
• Ensure contracts and operations remain legally compliant

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed attorney in Virginia, Maryland, and DC (or ability to become licensed promptly)
• 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:

• Experience with real estate investment or wholesaling
• Experience drafting operating agreements and corporate structures
• Experience with litigation or dispute resolution
• Business-minded and operationally oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

We are specifically seeking an attorney interested in a long-term in-house role embedded in business operations, not someone seeking a traditional law firm career path.
