Electrical Superintendent IIIThe Electrical Superintendent III is a senior field leadership role responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex electrical construction activities across one or more large‑scale projects. This position leads field operations, supervises multiple crews and subcontractors, and ensures all work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements, codes, and M.C. Dean standards.
The Superintendent III is accountable for full field execution including safety, quality, manpower management, outage coordination, and commissioning activities.
ResponsibilitiesField Execution & Leadership
- Direct and manage day‑to‑day construction activities across multiple crews and disciplines
- Lead field execution of electrical systems including medium voltage, low voltage, and critical power infrastructure
- Coordinate multi‑trade work to maintain schedule and operational continuity
- Supervise foremen and field staff; delegate responsibilities and ensure accountability
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain look‑ahead schedules (4‑week, 6‑week, and detailed outage plans)
- Plan installation sequencing, prefabrication strategy, and material flow
- Coordinate outages, phasing, and temporary systems for mission‑critical environments
- Be able to estimate projects and generate labor forecasts.
- Align daily production with project schedule and budget targets
Safety Leadership
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and M.C. Dean safety standards
- Lead daily Operational Risk Management (ORM) meetings and pre‑task planning
- Conduct site safety inspections and ensure proper LOTO procedures are followed
- Promote a strong safety culture across all field personnel
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all installations meet contract drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
- Perform and oversee quality control inspections and testing
- Manage punch list items and drive resolution to completion
- Support commissioning, startup, and system validation activities
Manpower & Resource Management
- Plan, forecast, and manage manpower, equipment, and material needs
- Monitor productivity and adjust crew assignments to maintain efficiency
- Track labor performance and cost against budget requirements
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely execution
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and clients to resolve issues
- Participate in progress meetings and provide status updates
- Communicate project constraints, risks, and mitigation strategies
- Maintain alignment with customer operations, especially in occupied or mission‑critical environments
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily reports including work activities, manpower, and production
- Track progress against schedule and provide updates on percent complete
- Support RFI development, material tracking, and job cost updates
- Ensure proper documentation for safety, quality, and turnover packages
Required
- High school diploma or GED required with 15+ years of experience.
- Journeyman or Master electrician’s license (Required)
