Assisted Living Manager

We are seeking an Assisted Living Manager to oversee planning and implementation of policies, procedures, and resident care and programming in assisted living and memory support. This full‑time, salaried position is based at The Mather in Tysons Corner and requires weekend and holiday availability as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the planning and implementation of therapeutic programs and environment to maximize resident wellness in Assisted Living and Memory Support.
    • Oversee and lead the Creating My Possibilities (CMP) program and culture.
    • Provide initial and ongoing training on CMP to the community, across the continuum, with a goal of engaging residents using a strength‑based creative approach.
    • Maintain CMP awareness in all‑staff meetings.
  • Directly supervise the Assisted Living and Memory Support CNAs in their daily duties with a dotted line to the DON or their designee for clinical oversight.
  • Conduct person‑centered interview process with residents and family members to design service plans around each individual's interests, needs, and strengths.
  • Contribute to selection, supervision, and performance management of CNAs, including performance reviews, recognition, and corrective action.
  • Manage Assisted Living and Memory Support administrative operations, including budgetary matters, and collaborate with housekeeping, culinary, and building services.
  • Partner with clinical nurse management for infection control, documentation, falls management, skin management, nutrition, incontinence management, psychotropic medication management, elopement protocol, and medication administration.
  • Ensure Federal, State, and local regulations and Mather policies are implemented and monitored, and lead licensing and survey preparedness.
  • Coordinate with Director of Engagement and/or Wellness Resource Nurse to transition residents from Independent Living to the Life Centre.
  • Collaborate with the DON or designee on staffing and scheduling in Assisted Living and Memory Support.
  • Support initial onboarding, including required dementia training, and ongoing training for employees.
  • Provide professional growth and development opportunities for staff.
  • Support community and social connections in the Assisted Living neighborhood.
  • Establish, operationalize, engage team members, and sustain the QAPI process.
  • Participate in Life Centre weekend schedule for leadership coverage.
  • Engage in emergency preparedness planning and drills.
  • Use a customer‑focused approach to problem solving, goal setting, and management philosophy.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional manner and communicate with residents and families in a timely manner.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion, complying with all privacy requirements.
  • Reflect commitment to inclusivity in all interactions.
  • Apply the Mather Wellness Model and the 3 A’s (Achievement, Autonomy, Affiliation) in resident care.
  • Protect and advocate for resident rights.
  • Participate in service plan meetings.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the company Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Create exceptional experiences for internal and external customers.
  • Operate efficiently within established parameters to maximize resources.
  • Participate in sales and promotion of the community.
  • Incorporate fiscal responsibility in care delivery.
  • Cover shifts as a staff nurse when required, if licensed.
  • Monitor and evaluate staffing ratios and patterns.
  • Participate in orientation of new employees and encourage professional development.
  • Facilitate teamwork between functional departments.
  • Participate in employee wellness opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in long‑term care, assisted living, and memory support
  • Therapeutic background with Alzheimer’s and dementia
  • Leadership and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of related Federal and State nursing regulations
  • Problem‑solving and goal‑setting skills with resident- and customer‑focused approach
  • CPR/AED certification
SALARY

Salary Pay Range: $94,676 - $97,500 USD
