Overview
Team Leader Role - Residential Childrens Home, Y'Benarth - 4 Bed EBD (Llanfairfechan, North Wales LL33)
• 1 x TL 2:4
All above EBD TL roles are currently based on the below.
- 2:4 Rota 40hrs contract
- £35,366.93
- Overtime rate £13.67 +1/4
This home supports young people with EBD (low-risk behaviours) and provides a nurturing alternative to foster care, focusing on stability, structure, and positive outcomes.
You will report directly to the Registered Manager and play a key role in leading shifts and maintaining high standards of care.
The Role - Team LeaderThis role includes shift work on a 2 on / 4 off rota, including sleep-in shifts, within a 40-hour contract.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shifts and support staff to deliver care aligned to placement plans
- Supervise and mentor Residential Support Workers
- Support care planning and review processes
- Maintain safeguarding standards and regulatory compliance
- Build strong partnerships with families, schools, and professionals
- Support daily operations, records, and reporting
- Promote positive behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies
- Act as a role model and ensure consistent boundaries and expectations
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year residential childcare experience
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
- Ability to lead by example and maintain professional boundaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT confident (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Calm, resilient, and adaptable
- Flexible to work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Desirable:
- Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
- Previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of residential childcare regulations and Ofsted standards
- £35,366.93 per year
- Overtime paid at £13.67 + ¼ enhancement
- 2 on / 4 off rota (includes sleep-in shifts)
