Relief Learning Assistant

Salary: £15.45 per hour, inclusive of £1.55 per hour Distant Islands Allowance

This position provides support for children with additional support needs. It is an as‑and‑when basis to cover absences of permanent staff.

• Work in mainstream classes, assisting pupils with school work under the direction of the class teacher.
• Supervise children at intervals and lunch breaks.
• Assist in the management of children and young people with behavioural difficulties.

• Experience of working with children, whether as a parent, in a voluntary capacity, or professionally.
• An understanding of the basic needs of children.
• The ability to cooperate with others and work effectively as a member of a team.
• A patient, cheerful personality with a flexible, open, and caring approach.
