Job Description Join Our Team as a Residential Deputy Manager!  Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? At Area Camden , part of the Polaris Community, we provide high-quality care that empowers young individuals aged 11-18 to achieve their goals. We are looking for a dedicated Residential Deputy Manager to support our Registered Manager in creating a nurturing and respectful environment.

About the Role  As our Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our home. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Registered Manager and stepping in when needed to oversee daily activities.
Supervising and guiding staff to ensure effective communication and high standards of practice.
Managing key operational areas such as care quality, recruitment, training, and basic financial duties.
Assessing young people's needs and contributing to personalized care plans.
Promoting positive behavior, independence, and active participation in decision-making.
Ensuring compliance with safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
Maintaining accurate records, including care plans and risk assessments.
Building strong relationships with young people, families, staff, and external professionals.
Assisting with admissions and ensuring a smooth transition for each young person.
Attending meetings and sharing key information within the team and partner agencies.
Essential Skills Required  To thrive in this role, you should possess:
2+ years of residential childcare experience.
A Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
Child protection experience.
Leadership and staff supervision skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience in managing budgets and staff rotas.
Project management skills and a proactive, solution-focused attitude.
A commitment to ongoing personal development.
Working Conditions  This is a permanent position with specific hours from 08:00 am to 20:00 pm (12-hour shifts), supporting a minimum average of 168 hours per month .
