- Full Time - 2:4 shift pattern with Sleep-ins

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Care Manager to help lead our dedicated team in providing therapeutic care to children and young people in our residential homes. About the role

Your Role
  • Leading care practices in the home and deputising for the Registered Manager

  • Overseeing staff supervision, development, and performance

  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements

  • Working directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes

  • Planning shifts, allocating resources, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations

  • Supporting the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans

  • Collaborating with external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people

  • Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and stable home environment

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in residential care
  • 2 years’ experience working in residential childcare
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) recognised by Wales - CIW / SCW
  • Willingness and ability to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
  • Excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding
  • Proven team leadership, organisation, and delegation skills
  • Knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks in residential care
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Resilience, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable:

  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management
  • Experience managing staff performance and leading team development

Established in 2007, Crystal Care Solutions has built a strong reputation as a trusted, values-led care provider, dedicated to delivering high-quality residential services for children and young people with complex needs. Since its inception, the organisation has expanded to 17 homes across three specialist service areas:
Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Specialist Therapeutic Care, and Supported Accommodation, operating across the North West, West Midlands, and North Wales.

Required Criteria
  • 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in residential children's care
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Proven team leadership, organisation, and delegation skills
  • Excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
  • Knowledge of Social Care Wales (SCW) and CIW frameworks in Children's Residential Care
Desired Criteria
  • Experience managing staff performance and leading team development
  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management of Children's Residential Care
  • Prior experience of Taking responsibility for overseeing aspects of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager and Deputy.
  • Experience of supporting Ofsted Inspections
  • Level 4 Wales
