Abernethy Primary School

This ECP post is term-time only, 5 days per week, in a school-affiliated Nursery class. We will have 24 children in Nursery next session.

The post is covering someone who is covering Maternity leave. The fixed term end date is anticipated to be until 1 June 2027. Should your employment end before this date, appropriate notice will be given

The post incorporates the typical role of an ECP working with children aged 3-5 years.

You will be responsible for the care, nurture and learning of young children and contribute as a team player to ensure a learning environment where children can thrive.

Skills & Experience Required

For the role of Early Childhood Practitioner, you should hold an appropriate qualification e.g. SNNEB, NNEB, HNC, SCQF level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People, as well as have the eligibility to register with SSSC.

Ideally you will have some experience of working in a school Nursery class.

This role requires you to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), if you are not yet registered, you can still apply, as long as you are willing to apply for registration within 3 months of starting with us and be registered within 6 months.
