Hotel Services Assistant

A job opportunity has arisen for successful candidates to join part of our busy Hotel Services Team on sites at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital. The positions will support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering Housekeeping and Catering services to the National Standards for these services in NHS Wales, HIW standard 5 and 9 and Organisational Standards.
To assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices; and helping to maintain open, effective communication.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't ‘fluency’, just speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

- Work within a patient environment and support the patient care team.
- Carry out general cleaning of all hospital areas in accordance with departmental schedules, specifications and the National Standards of Cleanliness.
- Perform catering duties as required, depending on service pressures and the job description.
- Adapt to changing service demands and modernisation initiatives.
- Move freely across all Health Board sites as necessary.
- Observe the highest standards of confidentiality, courtesy and consideration for all patients and staff.

Person Specification- Experience
- Previous experience of cleaning and catering duties.
- Some experience of working within a hospital environment.
- Knowledge, skills and literacy
- Able to demonstrate literacy, numerical and comprehension skills sufficient to read and understand written instructions.
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
