Location: Kylesku

The Place

Kylesku House is a luxury lodge-style property in the Northern Highlands and the most petite member of the Highland Coast Hotels collection. This picturesque house welcomes guests from near and far, exploring this glorious wild part of Scotland on the NC500, offering a truly authentic Highland experience hosted by our small but dedicated team.

The house is a special place to be, with some of the most spectacular views in Sutherland, looking out over Loch Glencoul. This high-quality house has seven comfortable guest rooms and offers an extensive continental breakfast for guests each morning.

Located just 1.5 miles up the hill from the main Kylesku Hotel, Kylesku House enjoys a peaceful and secluded setting, while still being closely connected to the wider hotel team and facilities. Cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Kylesku Hotel, meaning there is no kitchen team onsite at the house.

We are in one of the most remote yet stunning parts of the Scottish Highlands, offering a truly unique lifestyle. Situated on the world-renowned North Coast 500, the house welcomes a steady flow of interesting guests exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.

Working between Kylesku House and Kylesku Hotel, the great outdoors is right on your doorstep, perfect for adventure and exploration — with a varied working week that blends the calm, boutique feel of the house with the buzz of hotel service.

The Position Hospitality Host (Kylesku Hotel & Kylesku House)

This is a varied, hands‑on hospitality role working across both Kylesku House and Kylesku Hotel. You will spend some shifts at Kylesku House, primarily covering days off for the two main House Hosts, and the remaining shifts at Kylesku Hotel, supporting service across breakfast, lunch and dinner. As such, flexibility is essential, as shift patterns will vary depending on where support is needed.

When

working at Kylesku House, the role includes:

Hospitality Hosts are key faces of Kylesku House, providing warm, hands‑on hospitality to ensure guests receive a relaxed, welcoming and high‑quality experience throughout their stay. The role involves greeting and checking in guests, preparing and setting up the continental breakfast display (including a small selection of hot items), clearing and washing breakfast dishes, and supporting the daily housekeeping of seven guest bedrooms to ensure high standards are consistently maintained.

When

working at Kylesku Hotel, the role includes:

You will support the wider team with front‑of‑house hospitality across the day, which may include breakfast service, lunch service and evening service. Duties will vary depending on shift, but will always focus on delivering excellent guest experience, supporting colleagues, and maintaining presentation and service standards in line with the Kylesku brand.

This position is ideally suited to individuals looking to relocate to the Scottish Highlands and embrace a unique lifestyle in one of Scotland’s most beautiful and remote locations.

Hours of work will be 5 days over 7, with shifts worked across the hotel and house operation. House shifts are typically daytime (approximately 7.00am – 3.30pm). Hotel shifts will vary and may include breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

Due to the location and the requirement to move between Kylesku Hotel and Kylesku House, candidates must hold a clean, valid driving licence. Own transport is desirable but not essential.

The Person (s)

The successful candidate will have experience in hospitality or customer‑facing roles and enjoy working in a hands‑on, guest‑focused environment. You will take pride in delivering high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service, and enjoy being part of a small, close‑knit team across both the house and hotel.

Key skills and attributes include:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping, front‑of‑house or guest services
  • A warm, friendly and welcoming manner with guests
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach to daily tasks
