We are looking for an Overnight Hotel Assistant to join our team and take responsibility for supporting the hotel during the quieter overnight hours.

This is a varied position that combines guest interaction with practical hotel duties. You will be one of the key team members on site overnight, helping to ensure guests receive the support they need while keeping the hotel organised, secure and prepared for the following day.

You will work closely with the wider hotel team and will need to be comfortable using your own initiative, particularly when dealing with situations independently during the night.

Your shift will involve a mixture of guest service and operational duties, including:

• Looking after guests throughout the night and responding to requests in a professional and helpful manner.
• Assisting with late arrivals and early departures, including providing information and practical support where needed.
• Keeping an eye on the hotel overnight and reporting anything unusual, unsafe or requiring attention.
• Carrying out checks of guest and public areas during the shift.
• Helping to maintain clean, tidy and presentable communal areas.
• Preparing selected areas of the hotel ready for the morning team.
• Supporting with room, event or meeting space set-ups when required.
• Recording and reporting any incidents, maintenance issues or guest concerns.
• Following hotel procedures relating to security, fire safety, emergencies and health and safety.
• Working alongside the Night Manager and other departments to ensure a smooth overnight operation.
• Completing other reasonable overnight duties to support the hotel.

You will ideally have:

• A naturally helpful and friendly approach to guests and colleagues.
• The confidence to work independently and make sensible decisions.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to stay organised throughout your shift.
• A calm approach when dealing with unexpected situations.
• Good communication skills.
• A strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
• Previous hotel, hospitality, security or customer service experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person.
• The flexibility to work overnight, including weekends and bank holidays.
