Role Description

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at our venue in Lyme Regis. This position supports the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the site, including overseeing front-of-house service, coordinating staff rotas, and ensuring smooth, efficient operations. Responsibilities include leading and motivating the team during shifts, supporting training and development, and maintaining high standards of guest experience, cleanliness, and safety.

The Assistant Manager helps manage stock, supports ordering and deliveries, and contributes to achieving sales and profitability targets. This role also involves handling guest feedback, resolving issues promptly, and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for guests and team members.

Qualifications
  • Experience in hospitality or retail supervision, with skills in team leadership, shift management, and staff coordination.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and support a positive team culture.
  • Operational skills including basic cash handling, stock control, and an understanding of food and drink service standards.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene best practices within a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a pub, bar, restaurant, or hotel environment is highly beneficial.
  • Formal hospitality or management training, or equivalent experience, is an advantage but not essential.
