Overview
Join the dynamic Nature team as a Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist. The role is based across England and Wales with flexible hybrid working. You will deliver biodiversity net gain assessments for infrastructure and development projects across the UK, supporting both internal and external clients within a mentoring and coaching environment.
Responsibilities- Deliver ecological BNG inputs for both internal and external clients.
- Produce and technically review biodiversity assessments including BNG feasibility and design reports, Habitat Management Plans and Welsh NBB assessments.
- Collaborate with the BNG lead for UK&I to develop the BNG Vision.
- Assist in training and upskilling ecologists across the business.
- Support consultation and engagement with clients, planning authorities, statutory bodies and the public.
- Drive the development of technical capabilities and foster innovation and research.
- Work with digital and data teams to develop digital biodiversity tools.
- Contribute to bids and tenders for ecological and BNG services.
- Provide BNG technical support to the wider business.
- Degree (or equivalent) in ecology or an associated subject and membership of a relevant professional institution such as CIEEM.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policy.
- Proven experience delivering biodiversity assessments.
- Experience interpreting UKHabs data and Habitat Condition Assessments.
- Experience reviewing technical work, supporting team members and bidding/tendering.
