Morson Edge is recruiting a Configuration & Baseline Engineer to support a major F-35 training programme based at RAF Marham.
This is a unique opportunity to work on one of the UK's most advanced military aviation programmes, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and continuous improvement of the F-35 training system used by RAF and Royal Navy personnel.
Working at the intersection of configuration management, database administration, instructional design and defence training, you'll collaborate with industry partners and military stakeholders to ensure training products remain compliant, controlled and operationally effective.

As a Configuration & Baseline Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the F-35 training database, ensuring configuration control, supporting curriculum development and analysing training data to drive continuous improvement.
Working within a highly regulated defence aviation environment, you'll administer controlled technical information, manage configuration changes and collaborate with engineering and training stakeholders to ensure training outputs remain accurate, compliant and aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and maintain the F-35 training database using Microsoft Access
- Manage database configuration control, version management, backups and troubleshooting
- Apply Systems Approach to Training (SAT) and Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies
- Produce and maintain Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) documentation
- Support the design, development and evaluation of training curricula
- Analyse training data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Produce reports and recommendations to support governance and decision-making
- Manage training configuration using Per Force Helix Core
- Coordinate stakeholder issues and change requests through Jira
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams and programme stakeholders
- Support training assurance activities and ensure compliance with organisational standards
- Experience with in an aviation or defence training environment
- Practical experience applying Systems Approach to Training (SAT)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Access
- Experience administering databases or managing controlled technical information
- Experience in instructional design or curriculum development
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Experience supporting training assurance processes
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT/JSP
822) - Experience using Per Force Helix Core
- Experience using Jira
- Knowledge of Export Control and ITAR requirements
- Experience supporting fast jet aircrew or groundcrew training
- Experience working with military customers and defence stakeholders
- HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Qualification in instructional design, training delivery or training assurance
Successful applicants must be eligible to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance as a minimum. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may be required depending on programme requirements.
