The RoleThe Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. They will monitor the condition of GBS buildings, undertake repairs and renovations, and assist Estates and Facilities in planning refurbishment projects. The role may require travel to other GBS UK campuses and demands flexible working to accommodate business operations. Work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm, with occasional out‑of‑hours work to minimise disruption and ensure smooth completion of maintenance tasks.
WhatThe Role Involves
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Health, safety and compliance oversight
- Documentation, inventory and asset management
- Refurbishment and fit‑out project support
- Travel and flexibility as required
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard
- Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems
- Manual skills and knowledge of refurbishment techniques
- Flexible, proactive approach with a “can‑do” attitude
- Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently while being part of the wider facilities team
- Full, clean driving licence
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays
