Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service & Emergency Lighting Engineer to join our growing team in Birmingham. The role involves servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, and repairing fire alarm systems and emergency lighting across commercial and residential sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Service, maintain, and fault-find fire alarm systems (conventional & addressable)

* Carry out emergency lighting inspections, testing, and repairs

* Diagnose faults and complete remedial works efficiently

* Complete service reports and certification accurately

* Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards (BS 5839 & BS 5266)

* Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts

* Work independently and manage your own workload

* Participate in on-call rota if required

Requirements

Essential:

* Proven experience servicing fire alarm systems

* Strong knowledge of BS 5839 & BS 5266

* Experience with emergency lighting systems

* Full UK driving licence

* Ability to work independently and troubleshoot faults

* Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable:

* FIA units or equivalent qualifications

* Experience with systems such as Gent, Notifier, Morley, Advanced, Kentec, etc.

* IPAF / ECS / CSCS

* Previous commercial or multi-site experience
