MMA Welder; Temporary

Position: MMA Welder (Temporary)
Location: Orchard Square

We are seeking a skilled MMA/ Arc/ Stick Welder to join a short term construction project in central Sheffield. You will join and fabricate metal parts in various processes, materials, and positions for construction and structural projects. The role requires high standards of safety and quality, with all welding work performed to project drawings and procedures Start Date Wednesday 4th February 2026 Salary £20 - £28 per hour, 8 am to 4.30 pm.

You will need to bring, PPE including Mask, Gloves etc and hand tools all other equipment is already on site.
MMA/ Arc/ Stick Welder

Key Responsibilities:

* Weld structural steel using the MMA process in accordance with drawings and project procedures.

* Complete fillet and butt welds (full and partial penetration).

* Follow pre-heat and interpass temperature specifications.

* Ensure all work complies with quality and HSE standards.

* Carry out welding tasks on UB and UC sections, mild steel up to 10mm thickness.

* Maintain and use own PPE (mask, gloves, hand tools); welding equipment provided.
MMA/ Arc/ Stick Welder Essential Requirements:

* Experience with MMA/Arc/Stick welding on-site

* NVQ Level 2 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent recognised apprenticeship)

* Valid MMA Welding Certification to BS EN ISO 9606.

* Ability to read and interpret welding procedures and technical drawings, working to BS EN standards.

* CSCS Card

* Experience welding UB and UC sections, 10mm mild steel thickness or under

* Competent and reliable for the proposed work schedule.

* Welding equipment provided; only basic PPE and hand tools required.
