Standard hours: 39 hours per week, 08:00-17:00. Work one weekend in three on a rota basis with an additional 15% of basic salary.

Base salary: £29,009 - £35,015 (dependent on experience).

We are excited to offer a permanent Electrician role in a Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account delivering critical services for prisons across the UK. At Amey we support His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to keep 60 secure premises running smoothly.

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties.
• Actively fault‑find and problem‑solve on electrical systems across the prison.
• Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works, ensuring relevant inspections and tests comply with BS7671 and recording results.
• Ensure all electrical systems are safe, compliant and functioning effectively to create a secure environment for staff and residents.
• Assist the Responsible person and Authorised person when requested.
• Implement Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and safe systems of work consistently across all work streams.
• Assist with escorting duties and other responsibilities as required.

• City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition (17th Edition will be considered with upskilling).
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience with planned and preventative maintenance operations.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Capable of working at heights, independently and using initiative.
• Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
• Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
• Basic IT skills.
