Hales Group are pleased to be recruiting for a Plant Mechanic for our client based in Beccles.

This role offers a varied workload, a friendly team environment, and long term employment prospects for the right candidate.

You will be working within a busy workshop and yard environment - responsible for the inspection, service, maintenance and repair of a wide range of machinery and equipment. This will include mobile plant, diesel powered kit, and other components used in operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing and repairs on plant equipment including:
• 16t fork trucks
• Telehandlers
• Scissor lifts
• Diesel pressure washers
• Pumps, valves, hoses and tank related components
• Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
• Complete maintenance, repairs and servicing
• Perform thorough inspections to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance
• Work safely and comply with all site Health & Safety procedures
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Time served or qualified engineering background in plant, construction or heavy equipment maintenance
• Strong mechanical skills, with some auto electrical knowledge
• The ability to diagnose faults and work independently when required
• Experience with pumps, motors, valves, or similar mechanical systems would be an advantage
• Welding or basic fabrication skills (beneficial but not essential)
• A full UK driving licence
• Your own transport due to the site location
• This role is workshop and yard based and involves manual handling of plant components.
