Permanent Electrician position in HMP Featherstone. This role involves delivering critical facilities management services to support secure prison operations across the UK.

39 hours per week on a rota basis from 07.45am – 16.45pm. The schedule includes working one weekend in four on a rota basis, with an additional 15% allowance of basic salary.

£30,866 – £36,135, dependent on experience.

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including relevant administrative duties.
• Actively fault finding and problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
• Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works, ensuring inspections and tests are carried out and recorded in accordance with BS7671.
• Ensure all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively to support a secure environment for staff and residents.
• Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person when requested.
• Implement and follow Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work across all relevant work streams.
• Assist with escorting duties and other required tasks.

• City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
• BS7671 18th Edition; 17th Edition considered with upskilling to 18th Edition.
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience with planned and preventative maintenance operations.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management, and people skills.
• Experience working under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Ability to work at heights, independently, and use initiative.
• Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
• Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
• Basic IT skills.
• Prison Security Clearance required (Amey will support the clearance process).
