Position: PV/Solar Panel Installer

Location: Acton, ON. Employees need a valid Ontario Driver’s License and a vehicle. Most installation sites cannot be reached by transit; not every work day starts or ends in Acton.

Solar Direct Canada is a small business located in Acton, ON. We provide PV panel design, installation, and service to alternative energy clients across Southern Ontario. • Install solar panels on roofs or other structures using racking, proper cabling and electrical connections, under the supervision of experienced installers
• Service and retrofit existing PV systems
• Perform utility locating to identify potential hazards and ensure safe installation of solar panels
• Operate heavy equipment needed for installation and transportation of materials
• Maintain a good driving record and a full G License

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights for extended periods of time
• Competence in using power tools
• Proficiency, or interest, in electrical work related to solar panel installation
• Mechanical knowledge for assembling and rigging solar panel systems
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes or forklifts is a plus
