An opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a Local Authority on a temp-to-perm basis in Rotherham. Working a 37-hour week with sociable daytime hours, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, diagnostics, repairs and MOT preparation to ensure vehicle availability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high standard of fault diagnosis
- Carry out periodic safety inspections to DVSA inspection manual standards
- Complete PDI inspections
- Conduct decommissioning inspections and repairs
- Prepare vehicles for MOT
- Present vehicles for annual MOT inspections
- Carry out repairs to minimise vehicle downtime
- City & Guilds, IMI Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Category C licence or willingness to obtain this within the first year of employment
- Previous experience carrying out diagnostics, inspections and repairs
- Understanding of DVSA inspection standards
- £23.86 Ltd per hour (£20.47 PAYE equivalent)
- Temp to Perm opportunity
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 10:00 - 18:00
- Friday: 10:30 - 18:00
- Holiday allowance
- Sociable working hours
- Overtime available
