About the Role

Gov Facility Services Ltd is seeking a qualified NVQ Level 3 electrician with experience leading teams to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Hollesley Bay, a CategoryD Adult/Male prison. The role involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient electrical operations within the prison environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate electrical staff activities.
  • Plan and oversee electrical maintenance, repairs and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with BS7671 – 17th or 18th Edition and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide health & safety leadership and promote safe working practices.
  • Collaborate with other trades (plumbing, carpentry, painting, cleaning, administration) to support integrated maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of work, inspections and equipment.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years experience as an electrician or equivalent.
  • Experience on commercial or industrial electrical and building services.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff.
  • Full driving licence – preferably with D1, C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation).
  • NVQ Level3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • Certificate in BS7671 – 17th or 18th Edition.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety principles.
  • Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
