* Job Overview
* We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial HGV Trailer/Truck Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing a wide range of heavy goods vehicle trailers and lorries. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and equipment. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring the safety and operational efficiency of our fleet.

* Responsibilities
* * Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on commercial trailers and lorries

* Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams

* Perform repairs involving welding, soldering, fabrication, and assembly of parts

* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs and modifications

* Repair or replace components such as brakes, axles, suspension systems, lighting, and electrical systems

* Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts utilised

* Assist with the repair of auxiliary equipment such as excavators and forklifts as required

* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards

* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations

* Undertake heavy lifting tasks safely to handle large components or equipment parts

* Qualifications
* * Proven experience in mechanical repair of commercial vehicles, trailers or similar heavy machinery

* Knowledge of electrical systems within HGVs including schematics interpretation

* Skills in fabrication, welding, soldering, and working with hand tools and power tools

* Familiarity with assembly processes and equipment repair techniques

* Experience working with specialised equipment such as excavators or forklifts is advantageous

* Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for heavy vehicles and auxiliary machinery

* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently

* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail

* Good communication skills to provide clear updates to customers and team members
