Tullibardine Ltd is a family owned company producing a range of whiskies, including Tullibardine, Highland Queen and Muirhead brands. On site we have distillation, fermentation, maturation, blending and bottling activities. The site is also home to the Tullibardine visitor centre and shop.
Role Description
- We are looking for a hands on Multi Skilled Technician, experienced in an FMCG, Distilling or Brewing environment, to join us at Tullibardine Distillery
- The Multi Skilled Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Blackford, supporting the smooth and safe operation of distillery production and related facilities
- Working as part of a small team, you will be reporting to the Distillery Manager
- The ideal candidate would have both mechanical and electrical experience (e.g. ATEX), with priority on mechanical skills
- Previous distillery experience would be an advantage but is not essential
- A critical focus of the role is the effective management and maintenance of the boilers on site – so specific experience in this area is of particular interest
Expected Hours
- Full time position, approximately 40 hours per week
- Additional overtime or call outs will be required to support the current 24/5 operation of the distillery
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include routine maintenance (PPMs), inspection, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment used in whisky production, warehousing, and bottling
- The role involves monitoring equipment performance, identifying faults, and carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
- The technician will collaborate closely with production and operations teams to schedule work, support process improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Additional tasks may include basic facilities maintenance, record keeping of maintenance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the distillery
- Problem solving and recording issues (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety)
- Supporting the wider Production and support team to achieve targets
Skills Required
- Highly Motivated
- Understanding of health and safety practices, safe systems of work, and regulatory compliance in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, with experience working on pumps, motors, conveyors, and industrial process equipment
- Proficiency in diagnosing faults and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, maintenance, or a related discipline
- Experience in food and beverage, distilling, or other process industries is highly beneficial
- Willingness to work on-site, occasionally flex hours, and support the operational needs of a craft distillery
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders
- A valid Forklift truck license would be beneficial, but is not essential
- Depending on Experience
