Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Joiner / Machinist role based in Ogmore Vale. The role involves manufacturing bespoke joinery components, operating woodworking machinery and working with both hand tools and power tools to produce high‑quality finishes. Day‑to‑day tasks include reading and interpreting drawings, cutting, assembling, and fitting joinery items such as bars, counters, panelling, and furniture for commercial and hospitality environments.
The Joiner / Machinist will be responsible for maintaining a safe, tidy workspace, carrying out basic equipment checks, and collaborating with colleagues to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Occasional support for installation and fit‑out activities may be required, along with adherence to all health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in carpentry and framing for commercial and bespoke joinery projects.
- Confident use of hand tools and power tools, including workshop machinery and CNC equipment.
- Experience in finish carpentry, producing accurate, high‑quality fitted joinery and detailed finishing work.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in carpentry, joinery, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Good awareness of workshop health and safety practices and safe tool operation.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
