Site Carpenter (Running Work/Foreman) Fit Out
Birmingham £45,000 - £50,000 DOE Permanent

An award-winning interior design and build consultancy, known for delivering standout hospitality, office, retail and heritage projects, is looking to strengthen its site team with an experienced carpenter who's used to running jobs.

This business has built a strong reputation across hospitality, office and retail sectors, delivering projects - including work on listed buildings and Michelin-guide dining spaces - through craftsmanship, precision and a genuinely collaborative way of working.

This is a chance to take real ownership of sites, lead from the front, and play a key part in projects that consistently raise the bar.

About You
You're a hands-on carpenter with a strong fit-out background and the experience of running a site to match. You thrive under pressure, take pride in getting the details right, and know how to keep a job running safely, on programme and on budget - without losing sight of quality.
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial fit-out as a carpenter
  • Experience running jobs/sites as a foreman, managing multiple trades and sub-contractors
  • A track record in shopfitting, hospitality, leisure or QSR fit-out projects
What the Role Involves
  • Running the day-to-day on site, including managing sub-contractors and the programme
  • Owning health & safety - inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS, weekly checks
  • Driving quality and holding the finish to a high standard
  • Building strong relationships with clients and sub-contractors alike
  • Keeping projects aligned to design, spec and regulations
  • Managing programme, cost and resource on site
  • Solving problems as they come up - not waiting for someone else to
You'll Need
  • Trade background as a Carpenter (time-served or qualified)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • First Aid (3-day)
  • CSCS card
  • Asbestos Awareness
PASMA and Fire Marshall are a bonus but not essential.
If you want to work for a business that backs quality workmanship and gives its site leaders real autonomy, this is worth a conversation.
