There is an exciting opportunity to join our revenue department working as part of a mobile landscaping team, under the guidance of both the senior grounds supervisor and grounds supervisor. As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to make positive changes to the landscape of the Borough of Swindon that can be seen by all residents and visitors living in or visiting the Town.
The operation of mechanically powered machinery is part of this role and will include the use of Tractors, tractor/side arm, Ride on mowers, pedestrian mowers, hedge cutters, blowers etc. so a level of experience in these areas would be advantageous.
What you'll needRepresenting the Borough daily requires employees to take a pride in their finished work. Working in the public eye, you'll need to be of a smart appearance (uniform supplied) and a polite nature.
In your application, you'll need to show:
- Good knowledge of working safely and be able to work to a high standard in all weather conditions.
- That you hold a full valid UK driving licence for manual gear change and can drive light goods vehicles.
- Flexibility with working hours as required by the service, with core hours being between 06:00 and 22:00
- Evidence of meeting the essential criteria set out in the role profile's person specification (attached).
The application of weed control products is also a part of this role and a PA1 and PA6 qualification would be preferred.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
You will be subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
