Senior Vehicle Technician
Farnham Area | £40,000-£50,000 Basic + Bonus | Monday-Friday
Are you a fully qualified technician who knows their way around a spanner — and knows the difference between a diagnostic issue and a customer who says, “It was making a funny noise”?
We're recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician to join their team in the Farnham area.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a long-term role with a professional, supportive employer where quality workmanship matters — and where you won't be expected to fix the impossible with a hammer and a prayer.
JLR / Land Rover experience would be highly advantageous, although strong senior-level automotive technicians from other backgrounds will also be considered.
The RoleYou'll be carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, making sure every vehicle leaving the workshop is in top condition.
We're looking for someone who:- Can diagnose a fault without immediately blaming the battery
- Takes pride in their workmanship
- Is confident tackling mechanical and diagnostic work
- Can work independently but is also happy being part of a team
- Understands that “I'll just have a quick look” can sometimes turn into a three-hour job!
- Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- JLR / Land Rover experience preferred
- MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
- Maximum 6 points on your licence, in line with company policy
- Professional attitude and excellent attention to detail
- A genuine passion for vehicle repair and maintenance
- £40,000-£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
- £400 Christmas bonus
- Introducing a productivity bonus
- Optional overtime at T1/T2 rates
- 22 days' annual leave + Bank Holidays
- Long Service Leave
- Free MOT
- Training and development as required
- Free onsite parking
- A stable, long-term opportunity with a supportive employer
And importantly, no weekend working — because even mechanics deserve to have a life outside the workshop!
