Crane Supervisor

Location: Hoole

Role Overview Responsible for supervising all lifting operations on site in accordance with BS 7121, LOLER 1998 and PUWER. You are the link between the Appointed Person's lift plan and the Slinger/Signaller and Crane Operator on the ground. You ensure every lift is executed safely and stops if it isn't.

Key Responsibilities Lifting Operations:

Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations in line with approved method statements and lift plans

Brief crane operators, slinger/signallers (A40), and site teams before each lift - toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings

Carry out pre-lift checks - ground conditions, outrigger mats, exclusion zones, wind speed, crane configuration

Ensure lifting accessories are suitable, certified, in-date and fit for purpose

Monitor lifts to ensure compliance and stop operations if unsafe conditions arise

Safety & Compliance:

Implement and enforce LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and site HSE procedures

Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards

Report defects, near-misses, incidents to Appointed Person / Site Management immediately

Ensure all lifting personnel hold valid CPCS/NPORS cards and are competent for the task Coordination:

Maintain clear radio / hand signal communication with all parties

Coordinate with other trades so lifting doesn't clash with other site activities

Assist Appointed Person with reviewing lift plans for complex/critical lifts

Requirements - Essential for UKValid CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor OR NPORS with CSCS hologram

Valid Slinger/Signaller (A40) ticket is highly desirableCSCS card

Full 5-point PPE, Safety Critical Medical in date Proven experience as Crane Supervisor on construction / civils / residential

Strong knowledge of lifting plans, load charts, duties

Right to work in UK + 3-year checkable work history (DBS/EL1 if MoJ project)
