* Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm, plus alternate Saturdays, 7:00am – 11:30am
* An exciting opportunity to join a leading waste management and recycling business, maintaining a fleet of HGVs and ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and roadworthy.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop team, carrying out servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis to maximise vehicle availability and minimise downtime.
This HGV Technician job will suit:
* An experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
* Someone with an HGV maintenance qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
* A technically capable individual with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ideally holding a Class 2 HGV licence and digital tachograph card.
* A reliable, safety-conscious team player who can work independently, solve problems and support apprentices where required.
This HGV Technician job will involve:
* Carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs and associated vehicle systems.
* Preparing vehicles for MOT tests and completing warranty work where required.
* Identifying and reporting defects, maintaining accurate job records and completing relevant service documentation.
* Following health and safety procedures, using the correct PPE and reporting any incidents or near misses.
* Supporting apprentices and colleagues, with occasional roadside assistance and cover at other sites when required.
This HGV Technician job is based in Gloucestershire and is commutable from Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bishops Cleeve, Tewkesbury and surrounding areas.
