Position Summary
Short‑Term, Non‑Continuing Program Assistant – 10 to 20 hours per week at Coast Center, Fort Bragg, Mendocino‑Lake Community College District.
This temporary position performs program coordination, administrative support, and student and community services under the direction of the program manager.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with the program manager to develop project management plans aligned with departmental goals and project requirements.
- Assist with dissemination of program information and support services.
- Process budgetary transactions, such as purchase orders, requisitions, PAFs, and budget transfers.
- Provide customer‑service support, greeting students and community members.
- Offer administrative support: filing, record‑keeping, mail flow, etc.
- Help organize events as needed.
- Maintain a positive and healthy environment for stakeholders.
- Support data entry and reporting.
- Assist with special projects, including audits, promotional events, and presentation development.
- Support front‑desk operations by assisting students and community members.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- At least two years of experience in an administrative or office environment.
- High school diploma or GED;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Knowledge of program and departmental processes, fiscal practices, and administrative best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Proficiency with computer applications and software.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to follow directions, complete tasks, operate independently and in groups, present professional conduct, and abide by District policies and procedures.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb.
- Pass Live Scan background check and TB test per Human Resources guidelines.
- $20.34 per hour, 10 to 20 hours per week.
- 40 hours of sick leave per fiscal year.
- Possibility of CalPERS retirement eligibility based on hours worked.
- Bronze level benefit plan at employee cost.
